CHAINSAWS AND COFFEE @ SAVAGE BEAN

CASA of Cass County was honored to be the beneficiary of the first annual Chainsaws and Coffee event at Savage bean Coffee Co. in downtown Cassopolis.

The carvings were provided by Wildman Tom’s Custom Chainsaw Carvings out of Coldwater, Michigan. Tom brought several pieces to auction off, with all proceeds benefiting CASA of Cass County, while also showcasing his carving talents live for the community to see.

CASA of Cass County Director Erica Boulanger was on hand to watch, “Tom displayed his wonderful talent in completing 7 carvings.  We were able to raise close to 2,000!”

There were several other board members in attendance, not only to take in the action but to also help spread the word about CASA to the community.

Other vendors included local artists, the Cass County Conservation District, and several food trucks.

Savage Bean Coffee Co, was founded in 2022 by Kim Savage.

“We thought that [a Chainsaw and Coffee event] would be something nice because it has never been done in Southwest Michigan to our knowledge. And so we wanted to partner with an organization that we believe and trust in, and that was CASA.” Making partners in the community, and being able to give back is one of the missions of Savage Bean. “Giving back to the community and helping children is the best possible thing that we can do for our future.”

Savage Bean also has a calendar of events that includes live music, stand-up comedy and even theatre performances.

Boulanger was grateful for the event and partnership with Savage Bean, “On behalf of myself and the Cass County Board of Directors, we would like to thank Savage Bean Coffee, and Kim Savage for hosting such a fabulous event. We are so thankful she chose our non profit organization to continue to serve our youth in the foster care system.”
